Planning Night Trips and Fixed Time Windows
Coordinate operating time, contact time and delivery windows
When night trips can be useful
<p>Night trips can be useful when pickup or delivery is tied to fixed operating times or when a job is deliberately scheduled outside normal daytime hours. The key is to agree the time window clearly in advance.</p><p>West Transport has stated that trips can take place during the day or at night. This does not automatically mean 24-hour phone availability.</p>
Separate contact hours from operating time
<p>West Transport phone contact hours are Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 18:00. A planned night trip should therefore be coordinated in good time during contact hours.</p><p>For recurring night trips, a fixed route with defined days and time windows may be more practical than repeated individual arrangements.</p>
Enter date and time directly
<p>For time-sensitive trips, in addition to route and shipment details, specify when the goods are ready for pickup and by when delivery should take place.
